When They Come True
The mural is finished, the furniture is all set up, and the floor has been installed. Little Mattea loves her new room. This story will be on the Make a Wish Foundation website: wish.org.
This was a lot of fun, I wouldn't hesitate to paint another mural. Thanks to the people that helped me out with supplies, especially Cindy.
I can't wait to see what the Next Big Thing will be!

Ship Ahoy!
Painting the mural is coming to a close. The next big area to paint is the sail. There will be a ribbon behind the girls, sewn to the sail. The sail, now, has it's first coat. It looks rough, so I'll have to clean it up during my next visit. I'm loving how this has all turned out. The foam flooring is now installed and soon the furniture will arrive. The whole room is being converted into a massive play room for the girls.
Make a Wish
A lot of progress has been made on the mural since I last posted. The pictures here don't show just how far along it really is. It's coming together great and the family absolutely loves it. I need to make cartoon characters of the girls to go in the boat and I still need more animals to populate the beach. It'll be completed in the next few weeks!

A Good Cause
I am set to paint a mural for a little girl through the Make a Wish Foundation. She likes cartoons and animals so I came up with this idea for the mural. I have painted a large mural before (75ft. long) and this mural will be 25 ft. long, but I'm striving to add much more detail. Here is a colored sketch of what I have in mind so far. Expect plenty of pictures soon.

Little Space Sketches
This project started off with the simple idea of "Little Red Riding Hood" in space. These are early sketches that explored the idea of Red Riding Hood as an astronaut.
After establishing the idea of Riding Hood in space, the next step was to flesh out the main character. Red was too pudgy in the early sketches, then I thought this version wasn't fun enough. However, this sketch did retain many of the final elements that wento into Red later on. Her helmet, antenna, body, facial features, and glove size were all recognized here.

I think kids are missing out on some cool stuff. I remember so many picture books from when I was younger that were filled with fantastic illustrations. I've decided to make my own children's book that I believe kids will love to look at and read. It'll be exciting, adventurous, and full of weird and silly characters. I've always been a fan of 50's future designs and concepts, so that'll be in the book too. I have one completed page with one more on the way. Hopefully I'll have this project finished before the end of this year. I will keep up with sketches and finished paintings by posting them here.
Enjoy!
